What does floor grinding remove?

Grinding strips old adhesives, tile glue, paint, levelling compounds and surface residue off a concrete slab, leaving a clean, sound substrate. It's the prep step that lets a new coating, polish or flooring system bond properly. We use dust-controlled equipment to keep the surrounding area clean.

Can old floor tiles and adhesives contain asbestos?

Yes — vinyl floor tiles, their backing and the bituminous adhesives beneath them commonly contain asbestos in pre-1990 homes. Where we find it, we remove those materials under our asbestos licence before grinding, so the slab is both clean and safe to work on.
